Where do these young swimmers come from?!

Missy Franklin (USA) aged 17 years.  Gold medal winner in the 100m backstroke; she could easily win another 6 medals!!!

She also seems a really nice person … slightly bonkers in fact.  I really like her!!!  Size 13 feet and 6ft 1 … where on earth does she get her shoes?

Ye Shiwen (China) is aged 16 years.  She is so good in the freestyle I reckon she could give the men a good race. Gold medal in the 400m freestyle and also a world record. I have heard that she did the last 50m of the 400m faster than Ryan Lochte who is the top guy now in the USA.   She then follows that up with Gold in the 200m individual medally although she doesn’t set a new world record just a new Olympic record … Leave her alone – is it too hard to accept that just maybe she is a really really really good swimmer and doesn’t need drugs?

Then there is Ruta Meilutyte from Lithuania and she is aged 15 years!   She has just won Gold in the 100m breaststroke.  I think GB should claim some of her Gold medal glory considering  she trains in Plymouth!  Fantastic.

If these three swimmers are this good now heaven knows how good they will be at the next Olympics.  Mind you they will probably be challenged by more 15 and 16 year olds…
